Think you know your Christmas films?

Tomorrow marks the start of Advent. Not only does this mean chocolate consumption skyrockets, but it also means festivity flourishes! Ironically, however, advent began as fasting; three days a week Christians would fast in preparation for celebration of the Nativity of Jesus at Christmas. Wikipedia notes that pinpointing the beginning of advent is difficult, but many sources cite 480AD. Observing the fast is no more. What’s more, capitalism appears to have co-opted it – many organisations use advent to offer a competition, sale or multiple discounts.

Here at YourRecruit, we are feeling particularly merry and want to spread good cheer. This year, we are adopting Advent to give away an Amazon voucher and engage with our client and candidate base! Scroll down to find out more…

Competition

We will be uploading a still from a Christmas film every day in until 25th December to our Facebook and Instagram. Commenting the correct answer and liking the post will put you into a draw to win a £50 Amazon voucher. Unlike lots of competitions, everyday that you enter will be an additional entry (with a limit of one per platform, per day). Therefore, every day you comment, your chances of winning will increase. You must have liked our Facebook and Instagram to be eligible. We will be completing a Facebook live draw on 27th December.

However, we won’t make it too easy. Cropping will ensure only the very best Christmas film fans are successful.

Halloween

Last Halloween we held a competition and it was hugely successful. We had a very happy winner of a £50 Amazon voucher. This time – it could be you!
