We’ve got an exciting opportunity for a confident and organised Booking Scheduler to join a thriving team based in Banstead! This role will be an initial temporary position for 2-3 months with the view to go Permanent for the successful employee.

 

💼 Job Title: Booking Scheduler

💰 Pay Rate: £12.21 per hour
📍 Location: Banstead
🕒 Hours: Full-Time, Monday to Friday, slight shift of 8am – 5:30pm and 8:30-5:30pm. Half hour early leave on a Friday.

 

Our client is looking for an experienced and highly organised Booking Scheduler to join their team handling electrical works for social housing properties. This role is critical in ensuring timely scheduling of engineers, effective tenant communication, and managing a high volume of appointments efficiently. You will be part of a fast-paced team coordinating over 900 appointments per week, ensuring all work is scheduled effectively while maintaining a positive experience for tenants and engineers.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and schedule electrical works across social housing properties.
  • Contact tenants to confirm, reschedule, or cancel appointments as necessary.
  • Coordinate with engineers to allocate jobs efficiently, maximising productivity.
  • Handle a high volume of appointments (90+ per week) while maintaining accuracy.
  • Resolve scheduling conflicts and issues promptly and effectively.
  • Challenge and push back on unsustainable or unrealistic requests professionally.
  • Monitor workloads and prioritise tasks to meet service standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of appointments and communications in company systems.
  • Communicate clearly with internal teams, tenants, and engineers.
  • Identify opportunities to improve scheduling processes and efficiency.

 

Person Specification:

  • Proven experience in a scheduling, coordination, or administrative role within a high-volume environment.
  • Experience in similar sector/industry (desirable).
  • Comfortable handling a heavy workload and multiple competing priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, particularly with tenants and field staff.
  • Ability to resolve issues calmly and professionally.
  • Confident in challenging requests and setting realistic expectations.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) and experience with scheduling or CRM systems.
  • Professional and mature approach to workload management.
  • Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Resilient under pressure and adaptable to changing priorities.
  • Solution-focused with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
