Job Title: 2nd Line Support Technician
📍 Location: Brighton
🕒 Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am – 5.30pm
💰 Salary: £32,000 – £38,000
Role Overview:
A great opportunity for a confident and technically skilled individual to join the IT support team as a 2nd Line Support Technician. This role involves handling escalated IT support requests, assisting users with technical issues, and supporting infrastructure, systems, and applications across the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 2nd line technical support to resolve escalated IT issues via phone, email, or in person.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and networking problems.
- Support Microsoft 365 (Exchange, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive).
- Maintain user accounts and permissions via Active Directory and Azure AD.
- Perform system updates, installations, and configuration of devices.
- Assist with onboarding/offboarding of staff including setup of IT equipment.
- Monitor and maintain IT systems, escalating issues when necessary.
- Document fixes and contribute to knowledge base for 1st line support team.
- Liaise with third-party providers and vendors for support and warranty work.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a 2nd line support role or similar IT support position.
- Good knowledge of Windows OS, Microsoft 365, and Active Directory.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
- Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
- Experience with remote support tools (e.g., RMM, TeamViewer, AnyDesk).
- IT-related certifications (e.g., CompTIA, Microsoft) are desirable.
