🌟 Estimator – Specialist Plastering 🌟

Our client is an established specialist fibrous plastering company based in South London, who are recruiting for an Estimator experienced in Commercial and residential projects. This is an excellent opportunity to join a great team with ambitious plans for growth.

💰Salary: Negotiable dependant on experience.

📍 Location: Bromley area – Driver required.

🕒 Hours: Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm with an hour break.

The Role:

You will be confident in managing and co-ordinating all aspects of tenders. You will be responsible for compiling tender proposals, ensuring that they are completed in line with bid specifications; providing detail and costing in accordance with the set deadlines. Being highly organised and methodical with good time management skills in meeting deadlines is key for this role.

Key Duties:

  • Prepare documentation and quotations at pre-sales stage, including cost budgets and cost estimates for new contracts.
  • Review the current bid process from start to finish and make changes to improve the process.
  • Work with the Sales team to meet bid specifications; providing detail and competitive costing along with meeting tender deadlines.
  • Contact suppliers and manufacturers for quotations and project support.
  • Follow up bids once submitted.
  • Liaise at all levels (projects team, sales and directors).
  • Balance multiple proposals and estimations simultaneously, ensuring each reaches the client by the agreed deadline.
  • Provide detailed reports as required.
  • Attend client, contractor and project meetings.
  • Adhere to company standards and guidelines when analysing and providing estimations; focus on maximising profit and customer satisfaction, while minimising any potential risks to the company.
  • Assist and support other members of the team as and when required.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Proven record of estimating in the construction and fit out field to a high degree.
  • Ability to understand technical drawings.
  • Good IT skills including MS Office, AutoCAD.
  • Excellent people skills with experience in the customer interface.
  • A good eye for detail.
  • Strong customer-facing skills.
  • The ability to manage changing workloads.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a methodical, organised manner.
