We have a rare opening for a Warehouse Supervisor to join this well-established organisation who are a market leader in their specialist field based at their Coulsdon site. With over 60 years in the industry, their solutions and advice provided can certainly be trusted. With offices in Hong Kong, and a strong presence in South-East Asia they can offer an outstanding opportunity for the right candidate.

Salary: £30,000 to £35,000 depending on experience

Location: Coulsdon

Hours: 08:30 to 16:30 (30-minute lunch), Monday to Friday

Benefits: 24 days annual leave (4 to cover Christmas shutdown) plus bank holidays, company pension, subsided AA membership, healthcare scheme (after 1 year), onsite parking

Essential requirements:

  • Full/clean driving licence
  • Previous managerial experience within a similar role
  • Intermediate/Advanced IT skills to include MS Office and the ability to pick up internal systems quickly
  • Forklift Truck licence
  • Physically fit (heavy lifting will be involved)
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills
  • High level of attention to detail

Reporting to the General Manager the role requires the supervision of the distribution warehouse operations, overseeing a team of 5. Incorporating all aspects of warehouse management, the position is responsible for the following:

  • Goods-in area: Ensuring proper goods inspection, effective maintenance of products & materials, stock rotation and goods handling to a high standard
  • Despatch area: Ensuring correct picking of goods to the picking documents via accurate management checking, adequate packing of goods to avoid damage in transit and clear and precise use of despatch documents
  • Maintaining stock and batch traceability information and verifying shelf life where appropriate
  • Accurate maintenance of shelf stock locations
  • Export despatches and documents ensuring effective and accurate checking procedures
  • Effective management of customer & supplier returns, quarantined products and goods requiring re-work
  • Work with production supervisor to plan effective production schedule for WIP
  • Ensure compliance with all H&S and Environmental regulations
  • Effective daily supervision of warehouse staff and effective allocation of personnel resource
  • Ensure that facilities and maintenance tasks are carried as required
