Are you an experienced Accounts Assistant, looking for part-time work? 

This is a rare opportunity to work for a professional, family run company located near to main transport links in Kenley.  Our client offers 24-hour Residential Care in small Children’s Homes, registered and inspected by Ofsted, for young people aged 12 to 18.

Due to an increase in workload, they are looking for an experienced Accounts Assistant to join them on a permanent, part-time basis to cover 20 to 24 hours per week (to be discussed).

Salary: £26,000 to £30,000 pro rata (£12 to £15 per hour)

Working alongside the Finance Manager you will be responsible for the management of Accounts Payable in accordance with company policies. You will be processing accounts payable transactions, bank payments, mileage expenses, credit card and petty cash. Also, you will play a pivotal role in the management of staff timesheets and monthly payroll. 

Key tasks & responsibilities:

  •                      Manage Timesheet mailbox
  •                      Ensure weekly timesheets are received within appropriate timescales
  •                      Deal with any queries arising from inaccurate timesheets
  •                      Prepare data from timesheets for monthly payroll
  •                      Maintain Supplier records in Sage Line 50
  •                      Manage Accounts mailbox
  •                      Matching invoices from suppliers, match to signed and approved delivery notes and purchase orders and obtain necessary authorisation
  •                      Carry out detail checks on Utility & maintenance invoices. Investigate high usage with utility companies and/or with Home Managers and maintain notes on the invoice
  •                      Enter approved invoices & credit notes in Sage and reconcile supplier accounts
  •                      Assist in raising accruals and prepayment Journals
  •                      Assist in processing weekly BACs payments
  •                      Enter BACs payments, Direct Debits, Standing Orders, Cheques, staff expenses in Sage
  •                      Process and maintain records of weekly Petty Cash
  •                      Processing credit card receipts and reconciling company credit cards
  •                      Assist with the preparation of quarterly VAT and Monthly Management Accounts

Do you have the skills & attributes to fulfil this role? 

  •          Must have current working knowledge SAGE 50
  •          Bookkeeping experience essential
  •          An aptitude for IT – knowledge of MS Office Package
  •          Self-discipline, able to plan and prioritise your work to meet deadlines and service standards
  •          Ability to multi-task and work to tight weekly deadlines
  •          Proactive approach to solving problems and able to minimise errors
  •          Excellent attention to detail with the ability to work quickly and accurately
  •          Strong numeracy, analytical, interpersonal, communication and writing skills
  •          Ability to work as part of a team
  •          AAT Level 2 completed would be preferrable
