This is a fantastic opportunity to come and join a well-established Nursery, based in Caterham, who are attached to a local Primary School. They are seeking a well experienced Nursery Deputy Manger to come and support their Nursery Manger. It is a medium sized setting with 43 Children and 15 Staff Members, who really focus on the importance of implementing quality teaching to each and every child.

Position: Nursery Deputy Manager

Salary: £23,000 - £30,0000

Location: Caterham

Requirements:

  • Good understanding of marketing and supporting the occupancy within the Nursery.
  • Experience of working as part of a Management team.
  • At least two years’ experience working in the Early Years sector.
  • Be self-motivated, innovative, reflective and prepared to think beyond the boundaries.
  • Be committed to quality teaching and learning.
  • Contribute to the professional reputation of the setting.
  • Demonstrate good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Be positive and proactive with team members.
  • Results-oriented.
  • Be willing to participate in a range of staff development activities.
  • To continually strive for best practice in yourself and inspiring others.
  • Senior experience working in an early year’s setting.
  • A child centred approach to teaching using creative and exciting methods to engage and stimulate.
  • An excellent understanding of safeguarding / knowledge of child protection procedures.
  • Good communication skills, approachable, confident and caring with a passion for working with children.

Responsibilities:

  • Ability to manage difficult situations in a calm manner.
  • Provide leadership in training staff and deliver high quality practice within the Nursery.
  • To write clear reports and oversee record keeping.
  • Have strong EYFS knowledge.
  • Provide new starters with tailored inductions to suit both local and internationally recruited new starters.
  • Attend staff meetings and training sessions for continuous professional development.
  • To maintain a high standard of care and service throughout the Nursery through a self-evaluation of the setting.
  • Promote and support professional development.
  • Ensure internal policies and procedures are adhered whilst also meeting the external Legislation and Guidelines from our Governing Bodies.
  • Fulfil recruitment needs for the Nursery as required aligned to the Safer Recruitment Policy.
  • Support and mentor other Practitioners.
  • Responsibility to make referrals to external agencies and regulatory bodies.
  • To build positive partnerships with parents and children.
  • Desirable recent Ofsted inspection experience.
  • Model the skills and behaviours that safeguard and support children.
