An exciting opportunity for a Recruitment Officer has arisen to work for this College Group covering

South Croydon & Redhill on a permanent basis.

 

Salary: £23,000 - £25,000 depending on experience

Hours: 8:45 – 17:00

Essential: Full driving licence and access to your own vehicle. The successful candidate will be subject to DBS clearance

Start: January 2021

 

Role overview

Working closely with the Recruitment Advisor, along with Managers, you will be responsible for recruitment activity within allocated job categories, across both College sites.

This is a very busy, fast-paced environment, so an organised, consistent, thorough and timely approach to recruitment is essential. In order to source high quality candidates, innovative resourcing solutions will be required and the jobholder must build relationships with external suppliers as well as working closely with internal employees at all levels.

What will your working week involve?

  • Coordinate and implement the full recruitment and selection cycle across both Colleges for your allocated job categories to include permanent, zero-hour, temporary, self-employed & voluntary positions. Activity will include: document drafting, advertising, shortlisting, arranging interviews, facilitating offers.
  • Utilise the College Group online recruitment system (erecruiter), producing reports on recruitment statistics
  • Maintain a full and up to date bank of job descriptions and person specifications for all roles in your categories.
  • Adhere to the recruitment budget and update the HR Team regularly on all related matters and providing analysis of spend/success per campaign.
  • Directly source appropriate candidates for the vacant roles you are responsible for, by using social media, networking, job boards, College websites and intranets etc
  • Provide support, advice and coaching to Managers and staff on all aspects of the recruitment process.
  • Make verbal offers of employment to your candidates, after gaining appropriate approval, and add your new starters to Agresso as Applicants passing to the relevant HR Business Partner to complete accurate Offer Letters and Contracts of Employment.
  • Organise and attend recruitment events where appropriate, such as recruitment fairs.
  • Cover the HR Administrator and Recruitment Advisor, when required, in regard to all recruitment and onboarding activity.

 

Who will suit this role?

 

In order to be successful in this role you will need:

 

  • At least 1 years proven experience in a Recruitment role with similar responsibilities including resourcing and recruiting candidates to a range of roles – internal or agency based
  • Educated to A Level standard A Level standard, with Maths and English at Grade C (or Level 2 equivalent)
  • Experience of working successfully in a fast-paced office environment – able to build strong relationships with Line Managers and your direct team
  • Familiarity and utilisation of CV databases, job boards and social media for candidate attraction
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, time management and organisational skills
  • Willing to take ownership of your designated recruitment areas, with a proactive approach to problem solving
  • Experience of using an Applicant Tracking System (ATS)
  • Experience of liaising with both internal and external clients/customers
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills, in particular at least Intermediate in Excel
