We are pleased to be working with a local Business to support with their current recruitment need of a HR Business Advisor on a part-time basis (22.2 hours per week).

 

This really is a fantastic opportunity to work within this College Group in their vibrant and modern world class building in Redhill on a 12-month FTC (4 January 2021 – 17 December 2021)

 

Offering a competitive salary of £35,000 - £37,000 pro rata, this organisation also offers 25 days holiday plus bank holidays and closure days (pro rata), free parking, employee support services, free gym, discounted salon use, staff classes.

The post holder will be responsible for successfully partnering their allocated client areas, supporting them with staffing strategies that meet their business goals (within employment related procedure, policy and legal frameworks) and being responsible for all transactional HR within their client areas.

 

Giving accurate advice and guidance on all HR matters, including Recruitment and CPD, and having a full awareness of all related activity in their client areas. In addition, liaising with legal indemnifiers as required on behalf of the Group to minimise risk.

 

 

Who will this role suit?

 

Our client is looking for someone who is professional, knowledgeable and friendly, with proven experience of working in a very fast paced HR environment with an ability to be flexible and adaptable.  The workload of the team is high and there are always new projects that need completing, so the person needs to be a real team player who will roll up their sleeves and get involved to support others too.  The person needs to be able to use their initiative.

 

HR supports Managers significantly, so the successful person needs to be comfortable with acting more strategically in some elements of the role and also carrying out transactional HR too.

 

  • Fully CIPD qualified (minimum Level 5, Level 7 preferable)
  • Previous experience in an HR Advisory role – giving advice, guidance, coaching on employment law and co-ordinating HR cases
  • Degree or equivalent qualification, in a relevant subject
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience working in a fast paced, high pressure environment.
  • Up to date knowledge of employment law and recruitment legislation
  • Experience of using HR/Recruitment databases or software and producing reports
  • Previous employment within an educational/public sector organisation
  • Drive to Achieve Excellence, Technical Skills & Professionalism, Focus on Delivery;

 

Hours: This client is looking for the successful candidate to cover 22.2 hours over the course of a full week.

 

Location: At this current time (Covid-19), being within Education, support staff are working both on premises and remotely on a rota basis within the team.  So it is likely that the job holder will split their working hours between the sites in Redhill, Croydon & remote working.  The candidate will need to use their own laptop for remote working.  Working remotely is not usually offered to staff so by January, when this role starts it may well be back in the College for the full duration depending on Government requirements.
